Q: Do you offer a pick up/drop off service?
A: We offer a FREE transfer service from hotels within the following areas: Kata, Karon, Patong, Kamala, Nai Yang, Bang Tao, Surin Beach, and the Airport (Please note that we do not offer a collection service from the Airport itself).
Q: What if my hotel is outside of the free transfer zone?
A: Pick up from Mai Kao will incur an additional transport fee of 300 Thai baht one-way, or 500 Thai baht return.
Pick up from Rawai, Chalong, Cape Panwa, Cape Tukkae, Koh Sire, Laemhin, Rawai, Phromthep Cape, or Nai Harn Beach areas will incur an additional transport fee of 300 Thai baht per person for a single or return trip.
Q: How do I get from the airport to the sanctuary?
A: Visitors coming from Phuket International Airport are required to take a taxi from the Airport to the designated meeting point at Ban Nai Thon School located on Nai Thon Beach. (Taxi fare for this trip generally costs around 500-700 Thai baht per vehicle. Please note that this fare is payable by the visitor, and Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Phuket will not pay the driver or reimburse this amount).
Q: Do you offer Airport drop off?
A: We offer drop off to Phuket International Airport for only 300 baht. Please note: You must advise us before the day of your trip if you need airport drop off and how much luggage you will have.
Q: Do you collect from a private address or Airbnb?
A: We are unable to offer a collection service to visitors staying at Airbnb lodging, rental villas, or private houses. Visitors staying in these places of accommodation will be responsible for arranging transport either to a designated meeting point at Ban Nai Thon School located on Nai Thon Beach, or to the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Phuket office in Patong (Please note that the fare for a taxi or other mode of transport to the chosen meeting point is payable by the visitor, and Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Phuket will not pay for transport or reimburse costs incurred).
Q: Do you collect from a port or pier?
A: We are unable to offer a pick up service from Rassada Pier, Sea Angel Pier,Ao Po Grand Marina Pier, or any other pier, port or jetty. We do, however, offer a drop off service to the Pier for a fee of 500 Thai baht per person one way.
Q: I have my own transport?
A: Visitors staying outside our Free Transfer zone who take a taxi or otherwise arrange their own transport to the designated meeting point at Ban Nai Thon School located on Nai Thon Beach will receive a 200 Thai baht discount per person (Discount is applicable to online bookings only).
Q: How long does it take to reach the Sanctuary?
A: On average, it takes approximately 1.5 hours to reach the Sanctuary. The time taken may vary depending on which location you visit, as well as variables such as traffic, weather, and current road conditions.
Q: What are to roads to Elephant Jungle Sanctuary like?
A: For the majority of the drive to Elephant Jungle Sanctuary, we use paved public roads, however the final portion of the drive to each of our locations includes unpaved road conditions. We recommend bringing medication if you are prone to motion sickness.
Q: What kind of vehicles do you use?
A: Our vehicles are single- or dual-cab 4x4s with bench seats in the back covered by an open canopy. If for any reason you find this mode of transport unsuitable, please inform your driver upon pick up, and they will endeavor to accommodate you in the cab of the vehicle.
Bookings and payments
Q: How far in advance do I need to book?
A: Bookings must be made at least 24 hours before the assigned pick up time for your visit and confirmed by Elephant Jungle Sanctuary a minimum of 12 hours prior to the aforementioned time. Bookings requested on the same day as your desired visit will not be accepted. In order to avoid disappointment, we recommend booking as early as possible.
Q: Can I change the date of my visit?
A: Yes. There are no fees for this, but please inform us at least 24 hours in advance. Please note that you cannot change the date of your visit due to poor weather conditions, and Elephant Jungle Sanctuary will remain operational despite rain and other mild weather conditions.
Q: Can I change my program to another program?
A: Customers wishing to change from the One Day Walk to the Half Day Program or Half Day Program to the Feed Me Program must give 24hrs notice. If notice is given with less than 24hrs, EJS will not offer a refund for the difference in price, and may not be able to offer transport to and from the sanctuary. If visitor wants to leave the sanctuary before activity done, Please note that the fare for a taxi or other mode of transport to accommodation is payable by the visitor and Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Phuket will not pay for transport or reimburse costs incurred and customers switching to the Feed Me Program will need to arrange their own transport to and from the sanctuary as no transportation is provided.
Q: I have already made a booking. Is it too late to change my program (e.g. Half Day Morning/Half Day Afternoon/One Day Walk)?
A: You may change your program, provided you inform us at least 24 hours prior to the date of your visit. Please contact us via email at email@example.com to discuss your desired changes, and we will inform of if there is a difference in price.
Q: Can I make a booking via your Facebook page?
A: No. We do not accept booking requests made on any of our social media pages. For all booking enquiries, please contact us directly via phone, email, our website, or in person at our Phuket office.
Q: Do I need to pay a deposit?
A: Yes. After you send us a booking request, we will inform you of the deposit amount required for your visit, and payment methods. Your remaining balance may be paid on the day of your visit. Please note that your deposit is non-refundable.
Q: Refund Policy
A: Full refund if cancellation is within 48 hours of booking.
50% of refund if cancellation is within 24 hours of booking.
Non-refundable for booking canceled or amended less than 24 hours from the date of arrival and No-Show case.
Q: I have made a booking and paid my deposit. How can I pay my remaining balance?
A: You can clear the remaining balance by making payment to our PayPal account or on the day by cash or credit card. Please note there is a 5% surcharge for credit card payments.
Q: Can I pay with a credit card?
A: Yes. We have credit card facilities at our Phuket office and the sanctuary. Please note there is a 5% surcharge for credit card payments.
Q: Do you offer Child/Infant rates?
A: Yes. We offer special rates for children (4-10 years) and infants (0-3 years). To view our child/infant rates, please visit our Half Day Morning, Half Day Afternoon, or One Day Walk with Elephants pages in the ‘Phuket section of our website.
Q: Do you offer discounted Media/Group booking rates?

Locations & Elephants
Q: How many Elephant Jungle Sanctuary locations are there?
A: Elephant Jungle Sanctuary currently has 3 locations in Phuket.
Q: Can I choose which location I visit?
A: The location you visit will largely be determined by which program you choose (e.g. Half Day/One Day Walk), the number of visitors on the date of your visit, and where your place of accommodation is located. However, if you wish to visit a specific Elephant Jungle Sanctuary location (for example, if you have visited that location previously, or it has been recommended by a friend), please inform us in advance, and we will endeavor to accommodate your request.
Q: How many elephants are there at each location?
A: The number of elephants differs for each location. Currently, each of our locations has at least 6 elephants. Maximum group sizes for each of our programs are structured around the number of elephants at each location to ensure that our elephants are not overwhelmed, as well as to ensure visitor satisfaction and safety.
Q: Will I see a baby elephant?
A: While we currently care for infant elephants, we cannot guarantee that you will get the opportunity to interact with one.
Q: Are the activities the same at every location?
A: Yes. The itinerary and activities for each program remain the same at each location in Phuket.
Q: Do I need to make you aware of any medical condition?
A: Yes, guests who are pregnant, wheelchair bound or suffer from any pre-existing condition are required to inform Elephant Jungle Sanctuary of their condition, you may need to sign a waiver stating that you are in good health, and that you understand you will be participating in a tour which involves large animals. If you require a minivan one can be provided at an additional charge of 1,500 baht return, you must inform us at least 48 hours prior to you tour if you require this service.
Q: Can my dietary requirements be accommodated?
A: Yes. All dietary requirements and restrictions can be accommodated. If you are vegetarian or vegan, have any kind of food allergy, or any other specific dietary requirements, please advise us of this prior to the day of your visit.
Q: What fitness level is needed to visit Elephant Jungle Sanctuary? Can I visit if I have mobility issues?
A: All fitness levels are welcomed at Elephant Jungle Sanctuary, however some of our locations require a moderate hiking ability. If you have mobility issues, please inform us of this prior to your visit, and we will ensure that you visit a location suited to your needs. You will never be forced to do anything you feel uncomfortable doing. Please note that unfortunately, none of our locations are currently wheelchair accessible.
Q: Is a visit to Elephant Jungle Sanctuary suitable for children/infants?
A: Yes. All ages are welcome at EJS. Please note that, to ensure the safety of young children and infants, close parental supervision is essential during any interaction with elephants. We offer discounted rates for children and infants. Please refer to the ‘Phuket’ section of our website for specific pricing details for each program
Q: How much luggage can I bring?
A: You are welcome to bring a day pack or small bag. If you wish to bring a suitcase or any additional luggage, please inform us of this prior to your visit. Alternatively, you may store your luggage at the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary office for the duration of your visit

Elephant Jungle Sanctuary will never share your personal information (including, but not limited to, your name, email address, or phone number) with a 3rd party for any reason without your express permission, unless required by law. Q: Do I need travel insurance?
A: All visitors to Elephant Jungle Sanctuary are covered by our insurance policy, however we highly recommend that you obtain personal travel/medical insurance prior to your arrival in Thailand.
Q: Do I need any special vaccinations?
A: No special vaccinations are needed to interact with elephants at any of our locations. However, detailed health information and a list of recommended vaccinations for travel in Thailand can be found at: https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/traveler/none/thailand We recommend consulting your GP or a specialist travel doctor for up-to-date medical advice prior to the commencement of your trip.
Q: Do I need to participate in the mud & river activities?
A: No. Participation in these activities during your visit is encouraged, but by no means mandatory, and you will never be forced to do anything which makes you uncomfortable.
Q: What languages do your guides speak?
A: All of our guides speak fluent English and Thai.
Q: What kind of food will be served?
A: You will be provided with buffet-style traditional Thai food, including vegetarian options. All dietary restrictions can be accommodated, provided we are informed of them prior to your visit. Bottled water will also be provided free of charge, and other beverages are available for purchase.
Q: Is there WiFi or mobile phone service?
A: There is limited mobile network service, and we currently do not have WiFi at any of our locations.
Q: How many people are in each group?
A: Maximum group capacity varies depending on the program you choose, and which location you visit. The number of people in your group will also depend on factors such as the infrastructure available, and the number of elephants at the location you visit, as well as the time of year. Our most exclusive package is our ‘One Day Walk with Elephants,’ which is strictly limited to a maximum of 15 people per group.
Q: What should I bring with me?
A: We recommend that you bring the following on the day of your visit: Bathing suit; Change of clothes; Walking shoes; Hat; Sunscreen; Insect repellent; Camera (optional); Personal medication (if required).
Q: Can you give me the contact details of a fellow guest?
Q: I left some of my belongings (shoes/towel/phone/hat/camera/etc.) at Elephant Jungle Sanctuary or in one of your vehicles after my visit. Can you help me?
A: If you have forgotten anything during your visit, please call the office as soon as possible. We will endeavor to locate the item/s and return them to you. However, Elephant Jungle Sanctuary accepts no responsibility for any items lost, damaged, or forgotten on our premises. We advise all visitors to thoroughly check their possessions prior to leaving Elephant Jungle Sanctuary after their visit.

Q: May I bring a camera/video camera/GoPro to Elephant Jungle Sanctuary?
A: You are welcome to bring a camera or other personal photographic equipment with you on your visit. However, unless your device is waterproof, we recommend that you do not use it during the mud activity or while bathing in the river. Elephant Jungle Sanctuary accepts no responsibility for any device or equipment lost or damaged at any of our locations.
Q: I am a blogger/vlogger/writer/photographer/filmmaker/etc., and I would like to enquire about visiting Elephant Jungle Sanctuary in a professional capacity.

Q: Will you provide a photographer for my visit?
A: Yes. We offer a photography service at no extra charge. One of our professional photographers will accompany your group for the duration of your visit, and we will upload the photos taken by them to our Dropbox and then post the links on our Facebook page as soon as possible.
Q: When will the photos from my visit be online?
A: Your photos will generally be uploaded to our Facebook page within one (1) week from the date of your visit. We endeavor to upload albums as soon as possible after the photos are taken, however, we occasionally encounter delays. Please do not be alarmed if photos from our other locations (or albums from subsequent days at the location you visited) are uploaded prior to the photos of your visit.
Q: How can I find the photos of my visit?
A: Please go to our Facebook page, scroll down the page until you see a post with the date and tour you attended. On the post will be a link to Dropbox, please click on the link and you will see all of the pictures for your tour. If you have followed the above without success, and you have allowed at least one (1) week for the photos to be uploaded, please contact us via Facebook message, and we will attempt to assist you to locate your photos. If you contact us regarding your photos, your patience, courtesy, and respect is appreciated. Excessive rudeness, offensive language, aggression, threats, or hate speech directed toward Elephant Jungle Sanctuary or any Elephant Jungle Sanctuary staff member/s will not be tolerated, and any individuals in violation of this policy will be permanently banned from our Facebook page. – Unfortunately, on rare occasions, misplaced SD cards, data corruption, hardware failure, or human error may lead to photo albums being mislabeled, partially uploaded, or lost completely. We will do everything in our power to recover your photos, however in the event that we are not able to offer you the photos taken by our professional photographer of your visit, we ask for your understanding.
Q: Do you delete/remove albums after a certain time period?
A: Yes. The pictures are held for three months and after that time they are deleted. We recommend that you download the images and back them up on a separate drive.
Q: I dislike one or more photos of myself in the Facebook album from my visit. Will you remove them, please?
A: Yes. We will absolutely remove any photos of you that you are not comfortable with. Please go to the specific photo, copy the link and then send a message to our Facebook, and we will remove the image as soon as possible.
Q: How do I save/download the photos from my visit?
A: Simply open each image and click ‘Download’ which is normally located in the top righthand corner of the Dropbox web page.
Q: May I use a photo from my visit as my profile picture or share it on social media?
A: Yes. You are free to use any of the images of your visit taken by our professional photographer. Please note, however, that these images are provided for personal use only, and are not to be used for commercial purposes without the prior express written consent of Elephant Jungle Sanctuary.
Q: The photos of my visit were never uploaded. Am I entitled to a full or partial refund?
A: No. We provide a professional photographer as a free additional service, in an attempt to enhance the experience of our guests, particularly those without access to waterproof cameras. This service is not included in the price of a visit to Elephant Jungle Sanctuary. Our organization offers visitors a chance to interact naturally with elephants, and we are not a personal photography service. Elephant Jungle Sanctuary staff will do everything in their power to assist you in finding your photos, and we will never maliciously withhold photos from any guest. However, occasionally things do go awry, and if we are unable to provide the photos from your visit for any reason, we apologize and thank you for your understanding.
