Pituk (M)
Born: 2014
Parents: Nong-Mai-Noii (mother) and Phlai-Boon-Phat (Father)

Pituk’s birth resulted in his mother being unable to walk. Because of this, she was retired from the elephant camp at which she worked.

Mae-Boon-Sri (F)
Born: 1960
Parents: Mae-Khio (mother) and Boon (Father)

Mae-Boon-Sri has not had an easy life. In her early years, she worked as a logger at a logging camp, until being sold to elephant shows, first at Mae Taman, and then in the Mae Taeng District. Her final job before finding happiness at Elephant Jungle Sanctuary was at a riding camp. Mae-Boon-Sri has had three children, though only the third survives (and is unfortunately forced to work at a riding camp). At 2 years old, her firstborn son was stabbed by the tusk of another elephant, and died as a consequence of being refused medical treatment. Her second child died after eating a poisonous plant from a local farm.
